古い木造家屋が数多く残る大阪・谷町６丁目の、細い路地を50m程進んだ先にある美容室の計画です。
女性オーナーがおひとりで営業されるため、セット面１席・シャンプー台１席のコンパクトな構成となっています。
お客さんと１対１のプライベートな空間であることから、「お客さんがずっとセット椅子に座っているのではなく、店内を自由に歩き回れるようなお店にしたい」というオーナーの要望を受け、自由に雑誌を読んだり・コーヒーを飲んだり、待合スペースやカウンセリングスペースになったりと、フレキシブルに利用できる大きなテーブルをお店の中央に設け、そのテーブルを回遊できるようにその他のスペースを配置しています。
このテーブルをお客さんに利用してもらうことにより、テーブルに置いた本やアートなどから、自然とお店のスタイルを発信する場所となり、そこから新たなコミュニケーションが生まれることを期待しています。
既存鉄骨柱・梁の構成するグリッドに合わせて各スペースのゾーニングを行った上、パステルカラーの壁やタイルの目地・スチール棚等の作る直線ラインが、それらのグリッドに呼応するような計画とすることで、構造体をデザインの手がかりとして空間全体を構成しています。
また、バックヤード以外は間仕切壁を設けないひと続きの空間となるため、使用する素材・色の限定や、既存の鉄骨柱・梁の活用など、なるべく要素を減らし統一感を持たせることを考慮した上で、シンプルな中にも大人の女性オーナーらしいスッキリとしたかわいらしさを持ったお店になることを目指しました。
This is a plan of a hair salon located in Tanimachi 6-chome, Osaka, at the top of a narrow alley (about 50 meters long) in which there are many old wooden houses.
Run by a female owner herself, it is simply composed of a styling station and a shampoo booth.
Since the salon is a one-to-one private space between the hair-stylist and customer,
she requested to design it for customers to move freely around the salon, not sitting down at the seat all the time. As such, a large table sits in the centre of the salon where customers can wait, read magazines, drink coffee, or engage in consultations with the hair-stylist.
There is enough space around the table for them to move freely. This table will display books and artwork that reflect the style and personality of the salon, and be a trigger for conversations.
The design has begun by checking existing steel columns and beams.I have planed each areas according to the grid of that construction then have set soft hues walls, tile joints and steel shelves in order to echo with the grid.
Other than a staff room, it is a continuing space that does not have a partition wall.
To give a sense of unity, I reduced certain elements as much as possible by limiting the materials and colors used, and utilizing existing steel columns and beams. Even with its simple style, this salon is also designed to have feminine atmosphere which reflects to the owner.
